Working with the good folks at Tigerspike, we conducted deep-dive research into the point of sales systems used in restaurants. Our client was Japanese company looking to break into the US market. They needed a detailed analysis of the current competitors in the US market, with views into what features potential customers wanted and how they can design a product that can take on both newer startup platforms as well as more dominant market players.
To gain these insights, we conducted extensive research into the competitors offerings, and contextual inquiries to gain insight into how these systems are used in the real world. We paired these with an online survey to gain additional insights. The final product was an extensive report that we presented to the client.
